Offense: Offense is when your team HAS the ball and is trying to SCORE.
Defense: Defense is when your team DOES NOT have the ball and wants to get the ball back. A good way to remember this is that the word defense starts with the letter "D" and "does not have the ball" also starts with the letter "D".
Remember to watch the game you are cheering for. Match up your cheers and chants to what is happening in the game. There is nothing worse for a cheerleading team than to do a defense chant when your team is on offense.
