Have you ever wanted to know what a National Top Ten team is working on? Here is a great insight from Taylor Gee, cheerleader for Bowling Green Cheer Force; Taylor has been with the team for 3 years.
CIC: Tell us about your team:
Taylor: The name of my squad is Bowling Green Cheer Force, centered in Bowling Green, KY. We are a small level five coed team with 20 members. Our coach's name is Tom Jones, the elite WKU cheer coach as well. This year is my third consecutive year with the squad. Each year my team's expectations grow and this year our goal is to place top ten at nationals in Atlanta, GA.
CIC: What are you working on to place top ten?
Taylor: Well, we have harder pyramids including 2 consecutive 360's, reverse flip then a front flip dismount. The transitions into our basket tosses have a rippled effect of back tucks into kick doubles.
We have two jump sequences: the first sequence is a triple toe back tuck, pike back handspring tuck standing. The second is two girls doing back handsprings away from each other while a guy does a front tuck in between them.
Our choreography takes on a hip hop turn this year, featuring a double cupie heel stretch in the back! Our tumbling has always been very strong with 15 fulls out of 20, arabians, and a few double fulls.
