Here are some great tips to remember for your next tumbling practice! Want to get really good? Print these tips out and post them on your mirror daily so you don't forget them!
1. Engage the core in any tumbling skill you are doing as it all starts from your center!
2. For round offs: put your arms by your ears with that front leg in a wide lunge forward to maximize momentum!
3. For backhand springs: really sit low into this skill (it is all about how you start when you execute this skill).
4. For any no handed skills: SET SET SET and even more SET! Spot something on the wall or have a friend hold up her fingers and you have to tell her how many fingers she held up! Drive those toes over!
5. Visualize yourself executing the skill before you even attempt it.
6. Commit to the skill you are about to throw. The only thing to fear is fear itself!
7. Perfection before progression: you will not be able to throw a full if your layout is not executed with flawless technique.
8. Never give up! The odds of you hitting a skill on the first try are slim so dedicate yourself to that skill and you will achieve it.
9. Remember, it is 80% mental 20% physical!
10. Have fun and have confidence! You can do it! I believe in you!
